Henkels & McCoy, founded in 1923 by John B. Henkels, Jr., started out performing tree-trimming, landscaping, and tennis court construction. A hurricane in New England in 1938 proved to be the turning point in their history. While the storm was still blowing its way through the Northeast, Henkels & McCoy rallied, recruiting teams of linemen to send to the area. Just hours after the winds subsided, Henkels & McCoy crews rolled in to restore utility services. Today, Henkels & McCoy is one of the largest privately held engineering, project management, construction, and training firms providing critical infrastructure for the electric power, communications, natural gas and pipeline, and water industries. They consistently rank in the top tier of the Engineering News-Record list of Specialty Contractors.

Just as their slogan "simply fusion" denotes, at Georg Fischer Connectra their business is fusion, pure and simple. Through their full line of equipment and accessories for performing the heat fusing of polyethylene (PE) pipe and their "simple is smarter" approach, they have carved out their niche within the fast-growing, multi-billion dollar PE pipe industry. The benefits of Connectra fusion machines are many - not only are they easy to use and highly reliable, they are significantly less costly to purchase and maintain than more high-tech versions offered by their competitors.
Connectra offers simple, precision-made products that are equally efficient at fusing a quality joint. While they eagerly embrace and utilize new technology, they do so only when it has a tangible, cost effective benefit for the customer. In early 2008 their parent company, Central Plastics Company of Shawnee, Oklahoma, became part of the large corporation Georg Fischer, a global leader in supplying metal and plastic piping systems to transport liquids and gas in industry, building technology and utility applications. Connectra contributes its solid reputation in North American and its expertise in pipe fusion tools to GF's global range of products and services.
