Curtis H. Allen Scholarship Recipients Announced
Richardson, Texas – Two students were given a financial boost at the 51st Annual DCA Convention this month when they were selected by the Curtis Allen scholarship committee as recipients of the first Curtis Allen Scholarship. The scholarship was founded in 2010 in honor of the late Curtis Allen. The $2,500 scholarship is funded by Halliburton and emphasis would be given to students entering a vocational, trade or technical school.

The recipients for the 2012-13 academic year are: Kale Pool, Mastec North America, Shevlin, Minnesota, $1,500 and Carly Cofske, Wasatch Pipeline Supply,  Salt Lake City, Utah, $1,000.
Kale Pool, son of Loraine Pool, administrative assistant for Mastec North America is attending High School and wishes to study Engineering at Piedmont Community College after graduation.
Carly Cofske is employed by Wasatch Pipeline Supply, as a purchasing agent. She plans to attend University of Phoenix and wishes to pursue an Associate of Arts degree with a business focus.

The 2012 Curtis Allen committee was comprised of the DCA Vice President Kevin Michels, Michels Corporation;  Director at Large Larry Ernst, Midwest Underground, Inc., East Moline, Illinois; Alternate Associate Member Director John B. Weaver, John Deere Construction & Forestry Division, Moline, Ilinois; Halliburton Representatives Don Dell, Bentonite Performance Minerals, Houston, Texas and Tom Tibor, Baroid Industrial Drilling Products, Houston, Texas; and Dan Sharpe, American Augers, West Salem, Ohio.
